Even though they are just teen-agers, they have their own magazine and already released their debut CD, "Dream Street," on July The CD sold more than 32, copies in its first week, as well as reaching No. — on the Billboard Top Independent Albums Chart.

"It was cool to write teen music that was actually going to be performed by teens," say songwriters Berny Cosgrove and Kevin Clark.

This teen group didn't happen overnight; they have been together for about three years.

There were two producers, Brian Lukow and Louie Baldonieri, who had a vision of creating a boy band that was actually made up of young boys, and that's exactly what they did.

They put out a casting call where more than talented kids showed up, and then they narrowed it down to eight, and then to the final five. "Everyone told us that we couldn't do it and that the boys were too young, but we knew what we were doing was a good idea," comments Baldonieri.

Lukow and Louie Baldonieri were right all along by saying that a young music group would succeed.

"We love what we do and were very excited about the CD," says Trousdale (a Broadway veteran of "Les Miserables" and "The Sound of Music").

"It's been great and we can't ask for more."

Along with their CD, they also released their first single, "It Happens Everytime."

When first hearing their song on the radio, Ballinger was driving in his car. "It was awesome," says Ballinger (a Broadway veteran of "The Sound of Music" and the "King and I"). "We were shocked at how many CDs we sold so far."

"When I heard our song on the radio, I was jumping up and down," comments Trousdale.

With a CD and concerts come rehearsals.

"We come home from school, do our homework, go to practice from 6 to 9 p.m., and do it all over again the next day," says Jesse (who plays JR on the soap "All My Children").

"Hopefully next year we will get tutors," Raposo, who was the only child to perform at Graceland's 20th anniversary of Elvis' death, said.

At rehearsals they sing, practice and learn new dance moves from choreographer Claudia Swan.

"Trousdale was the only one who had dance experience, so I had to work from the beginning with the other guys, but they came a long way from where they started," Swan said.

"My favorite part of what I do is meeting the fans and seeing their expressions on their faces when they meet us," Trousdale said.

"I really like performing on stage for all the fans and giving them a good show," comments Galasso.

"The contracts and legal stuff can get annoying, though, after three years," adds Jesse.

Aside from Dream Street, when they are not rehearsing, singing or doing signings, they are just normal guys.

"We like to hang out and play sports," says Raposo.

Sports include lacrosse, soccer, baseball, basketball, almost anything.

"We will be doing a West Coast tour in August and then coming back to New York and doing a Radio Disney tour with Aaron Carter," says Jesse.

"We would like to see our career go up, up, up," concludes Trousdale.

"All the way up to the charts at No.

1," added Galasso.
